In the first match, KLCC won the toss and put in the opposition, MT to bat. It was indeed a wise decision by KLCC’s skipper, as MT batting line-up could not cope with some accurate bowling by the KLCC trio of Imran Ullah, T.Kodikara and Chanaka Komasaru who took three wickets each giving away 26 and 27 runs respectively. Only Fikri Makram who came in at number eight, hit 37 runs while Damith Waruse and Hammad Khan scored 26 and 21 runs respectively as MT managed only 153 runs all out in 45.2 overs. Naeem Ahmad (1 for 19) and Khizer Hayat (1 for 20) were the other wicket-takers.KLCC needed only 25.1 overs to reach the target score at 159 runs for 3 wickets, winning the first match by 7 wickets. Khizer Hayat hit an unbeaten 55 runs while Darvin Muralitharan and Zeeshan Khan chipped with 37 and 23 runs respectively.
In the second match KLCC batted first on winning the toss. However their batsmen failed to live up to their reputation and managed to score a paltry 120 runs all out in 45.2overs. Only Darvin Muralitharan (39), Chanaka Komasaru (27) and Ahmed Ali (20) troubled the scorers. Alankara Asanka and Ezsrafiq Ab. Aziz took the bowling honours taking 3 wickets each giving away 26 and 28 runs respectively.In reply, MT scored the winning off the first ball off the 26th over with a boundary by burly Eszrafiq with the score standing at 124 runs for 6 wickets, a well earned victory by 4 wickets. Hammad Khan top scored with 40 runs while Damith Waruse (28) and Eszrafiq (26 n.o.) were the other main run-getters. Chanaka Komarasu took 3 wickets for 48 runs while spinner Naeem Ahmad chipped in with 2 wickets costing 27 runs.
